2023 sees the introduction of a new multi-purpose floor tile by Ecotile. Branded Utility Tile, they’re hard-wearing and easy to keep clean interlocking floor tiles, designed for use in lighter industrial settings or the residential market.
These 5mm raised disc tiles offer a lower price point alternative for situations where 7mm tiles are not required by your clients. They’re manufactured from the same virgin PVC as all Ecotile Original floor tiles, in our ISO9001 accredited Bedfordshire factory. And just like all Ecotiles, each Utility Tile is 100% recyclable. They have a 5-year warranty and an estimated 10-year service life.
Each tile is 505mm x 505mm in size, with one square metre weighing 5.7kg. Available in Graphite, Black or Blue, each tile has a studded surface, an R10 slip rating and a Bfl-S1 fire retardant rating.

They’ve been engineered with a new dovetail interlocking joint, meaning U500 tiles standalone within the Ecotile range with their own unique joint design. Strong and durable, they’ve been designed for longevity and fast installation. With Utility Tile, there’s no need for ramps. Simply trim tiles to create a straight edge or use standard diminishing or transition strips where necessary.

One tile. Hundreds of uses.
Designed for light industrial and residential use, you can recommend Utility Tiles in hundreds of environments to help solve common flooring problems. Perfect for protecting concrete subfloors or covering worn and damp floors, Utility Tiles will enhance any workspace and create a safer, more professional environment.
Meeting customer needs with reduced budgets was at the forefront of our discussions during product development. Sensitive that residential/domestic end users are being stretched from all directions during the current cost of living price increases, having a more entry-level product offers customers the opportunity to still address their needs within their reduced budgets. The same goes for businesses too, where lighter-use tiles may be suitable for their specific flooring needs, saving them budget where 7mm floor protection isn’t essential, and potentially increasing conversion rates as a result.

When considering whether to suggest U500/5 tiles, here’s a list of situations where they could be the best option:
• Offices
• Assembly lines
• Heavy foot traffic areas
• Storerooms
• Receptions
• Corridors
• Canteen / rest rooms
• Workshops
• Light manufacturing
• Mezzanines
• Laboratories
• Studios
• Retail space
• Exhibition flooring
• Wholesale counters
• Product display areas
• Training room
• Domestic garage / room conversions
